Torpago CEO Brent Jackson Talks With TechCrunch About Powered By

Ahead of our recent Series B announcement, our founder and CEO, Brent Jackson, had the opportunity to sit down with TechCrunch. He used the time to share the Torpago story, how our product focus has evolved, and the work we’ll be focusing on following the Series B raise.

“We started as a competitor with Brex and Ramp, as well as American Express and Capital One,” said Brent. “It allowed us to also build a great product, but we realized early on that this is not the market we wanted to go after.”

This realization led to the launch of Powered By, our white-label business credit card program solution suite, which we designed to help community banks and credit unions launch modern credit card programs.

“We’re actually providing them with an experience that they can be proud to promote, and they can use to drive more fee income, help retain deposits and just get a better customer experience,” said Brent.

As for the work that we’ll be undertaking following the Series B, Brent shared that the focus will be on bolstering our implementation and compliance resources with the help of artificial intelligence and large language models meant to help with underwriting, credit memos, and risk scores.
